# XAMPP, Apache - Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly

I have just installed XAMPP, and when I [am trying](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/36834/which-two-programming-languages-should-i-master-in-if-i-am-trying-to-get-into-google-or-facebook) to start my [Apache server](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/710/apache-server-installation-on-windows) in the XAMPP [Control](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/197/asp-dot-net-repeater-control) Panel, I got the following errors:\

Here you go:\
If Skype is installed on your machine, then follow following steps:Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Connection.\
Disable the "Use port 80 and 443 for alternatives for incoming connections"\
Sign Out and Close all Skype windows. Then restart your [Apache](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/11351/mobile-application-development-using-apache-cordova) [Server](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/43769/what-is-serverless-architecture-is-it-worth-switching-over).\

Change the port of Apache Server , by default it is "80", you can change to "82"same changes needed in config file "httpd.conf" \
