# “A specified communication resources(port) is already in use” when attaching the debugger

I have just upgrade my [windows](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/311752/how-to-install-and-use-the-google-wifi-software-on-a-windows-or-mac-computer) phone 8 to windows phone 8.1. When I connect my phone to pc and run my project it gives me a specified [communication](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/126321/5-fails-and-fixes-of-the-office-communication) [resources](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/293/renovation-causes-wastage-of-resources)(port) is already in use by another application.*\*I restarted my PC and Phone, removed all [connected external](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/108870/what-if-your-laptop-is-not-recognizing-a-connected-external-microphone) [devices](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/301912/how-smart-devices-are-changing-our-lives) but still getting same [error while running](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/159405/how-to-solve-an-out-of-memory-error-while-running-a-resource-intensive-application) my code through [Visual Studio](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12378/visual-studio-for-mac-is-out-of-beta-preview-now-officially-available) 2012.I can see it's deployed on phone but I can't debug it. Debugger is not attaching.

I found it

We need to update visual studio 2012

Go to Tools->Extensions and update->updates and update the visual studio update 4
