# Does Perplexity search broadly enough when a question has several possible interpretations?

I’ve noticed that a question with an ambiguous term can lead to a very specific set of search results, even when I meant something else. With Perplexity, it isn’t always obvious whether the initial search covered different interpretations or settled on one early.

How do you get a sense of the search scope before building on the answer? I’m interested in whether people deliberately phrase alternate interpretations or run separate queries when using **Perplexity search scope** for a topic with overlapping terminology.
