# Do ChatGPT scheduled tasks run when the app is closed?

I’m trying to use ChatGPT’s scheduled tasks for reminders, but I’m not sure what needs to be open for them to run. If I create a task in the app and then close it—or turn off my computer—will it still run at the scheduled time and send a notification?

I’d also like to know whether the answer changes between mobile and desktop. If you’ve tried this, what [notification settings](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/115952/why-am-i-not-receiving-quora-notification-emails-even-though-theyre-enabled-in-settings) or permissions did you need to check?
