# How does the Grok API stream partial tool-call arguments?

I’m building a client around Grok API streaming and want to know what to expect when the model starts a tool call. Are **partial tool-call arguments** sent as incremental chunks, and if so, how should a client tell when the arguments are complete and safe to parse?

If you’ve wired this into a live interface, I’d be interested in how you handle incomplete JSON or a stream that ends before the tool call is finished.
