# How should I handle long conversation history with the DeepSeek API?

I’m testing a chat app with the DeepSeek API and the message history grows with every turn. For a **long conversation history**, should my client keep sending the full message list each time, or is there a supported way to continue a conversation without resending everything? I’m also curious how people track the usable context limit as the history gets larger.
