# Can I continue fine-tuning an OpenAI model from a previous fine-tuned version?

I’m updating a fine-tuned model as our examples change and am unsure whether each new training run can build on the previous fine-tuned version, or whether it has to start from the original base model.

For anyone who has maintained a fine-tuned model over time: how do you handle new training data, and what should I check about supported base models before choosing an approach?
