# For code review, when would you choose DeepSeek V3 over R1?

I’m trying to pick a DeepSeek model for reviewing code changes with a fair amount of repository context. Would V3 usually be the better fit for quick, routine review, while R1 is worth the extra time for tricky logic—or does that distinction not hold up in practice?
