# Can the DeepSeek API return multiple tool calls in one turn?

I’m building a client that lets a DeepSeek model call tools, and I’m unsure whether to expect one tool call at a time or several in the same assistant response. If the model returns multiple calls, should the client run them concurrently, or wait until each result has been returned before continuing?

I’d also like to know whether this behavior depends on the model or API mode. If you’ve implemented this, what response pattern should a client handle safely?
