# Can Grok write useful alt text for an image attached to an X post?

When an image is attached to an X post, I’d like to ask Grok for alt text that describes the image itself without folding in the post’s caption or opinion. Does it keep those two sources of context separate?

I’m especially curious about charts and screenshots, where a brief description can miss the point unless the visible labels or relationships are captured. If you’ve tested this, what kind of prompt gave you a useful result?
