# Why does DeepSeek sometimes show reasoning separately from its final response?

While testing DeepSeek through an API, I’ve seen responses where **reasoning content and final answer** appear as separate parts, while other setups only expose a normal reply. Is that difference tied to the model, the API endpoint, or the provider wrapping the response?

I’m trying to build a client that displays the user-facing answer without accidentally treating internal or intermediate text as part of it. If the behavior changes between DeepSeek models or hosting providers, what should I check first?
