# Can Perplexity format its citations in a specific academic style?

I use Perplexity to gather sources for coursework, but its citations don’t always match the style required for the assignment. I’m wondering whether there’s a reliable way to request APA, MLA, or Chicago formatting, and how much checking is still needed for details like publication dates and author names.

What has worked for you with **Perplexity citation styles**? I’m interested in whether you set the format in the question itself or handle citations separately after reviewing the sources.
