# Can Grok export generated images with a truly transparent background?

I’m making a few simple graphics with Grok and would like to place them over different backgrounds afterward. The preview sometimes looks like it has a transparency grid, but it’s hard to tell whether that pattern represents real transparency or is part of the image.

Does Grok currently provide a way to export a **[transparent background](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/83/how-use-transparent-background-in-javascript)** as an actual alpha channel, or do you have to remove the background with another tool? If you’ve checked the downloaded file itself, what format and results did you get?
