# Can Perplexity distinguish product versions during research?

When I research electronics, search results often mix several versions of what looks like the same product: different release years, regional models, or bundles with slightly different specs.

How well does Perplexity keep those variants straight when it summarizes reviews and specifications? For example, can it tell that a battery figure belongs to last year’s model rather than the current one, or do I need to check each cited page myself?

I’d be interested in how others phrase these searches so the answer stays focused on one exact version.
