# Does Perplexity separate an event date from a page’s publication date?

I asked Perplexity about an event that happened years ago and got sources published much later. That made me wonder whether it distinguishes the date an event took place from the date an article or page was published.

For questions about historical events or older announcements, can I trust the dates in the answer, or should I ask it to show both the **publication date and event date** for each source?
