# Can Claude preserve speaker labels when summarizing a transcript?

I often ask Claude to condense meeting transcripts, but a summary is much less useful if it blurs who said what. Has anyone found a reliable way to keep **speaker labels and timestamps** attached to the right points?

I’m also wondering how it handles interruptions or a quick exchange between two people. Does adding a specific instruction help, or is it better to ask for a structured summary after first cleaning up the transcript?
