# What access does a Claude connector get when I link an external account?

I’m considering connecting Claude to a work account, but I can’t tell how narrowly that access can be limited. Does a connector typically see only the files or records I ask it to use, or can it search more broadly across the connected service?

I’d also like to understand what happens after access is revoked. If you’ve set up a [Claude connector](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/117451/how-should-i-assess-the-permissions-of-a-claude-mcp-connector) for a team, how did you check its permissions and make sure sensitive folders stayed out of reach?
