# Can an OpenAI Realtime session recover cleanly after a mobile network switch?

I’m building a mobile voice app with the OpenAI Realtime API and trying to understand what happens when a user moves from Wi-Fi to cellular. The connection may drop briefly, but I’d like the conversation to continue without starting over or replaying audio the user already sent.

Has anyone handled this kind of **mobile network switch** in a production app? I’m especially curious about what session state can be resumed, how you avoid duplicate responses after reconnecting, and whether the app should treat a dropped connection as a new conversation. Practical experience with **Realtime session recovery** would be helpful.
