# Can DeepSeek API outputs be made repeatable for regression tests?

I’m using DeepSeek through its API and want to compare outputs before and after a prompt change. Even when I send the same input, small differences can make a regression test noisy.

What settings or testing practices have helped you get more **repeatable API outputs**? I’m curious how much variation to expect from sampling settings, model updates, or any seed-related options, and how you separate a real prompt regression from ordinary run-to-run differences.
