# Does Grok remember preferences between chats, and can you review what it has remembered?

I’m trying to understand how Grok’s memory works in ordinary chats. If I mention a preference—such as wanting concise answers or using a particular unit system—will it carry that into a [new conversation](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2947/microsoft-will-add-advertisements-to-its-new-bing-conversation-driven-by-ai), or is that information limited to the current chat?

I’m also curious whether there’s a clear way to see or remove anything Grok has retained. If you’ve tested this, did the remembered details behave predictably across new chats?
