# Can Perplexity enforce a cutoff date for sources in research?

I’m researching a product category where older pages keep turning up alongside recent announcements. I can check dates manually, but that gets tedious when a research answer has a lot of citations.

Does Perplexity let you set a firm **source date cutoff**, so material published before a particular date is excluded rather than merely ranked lower? If you’ve found a good way to phrase a date range in a search, I’d also like to know whether it holds up across follow-up questions.
