# Can Claude turn rough meeting notes into action items without guessing?

I have meeting notes that are more fragments than minutes: names beside half-finished sentences, a few decisions, and several ideas that nobody actually agreed to. I’d like Claude to pull out follow-ups, but I don’t want it turning a tentative suggestion into a firm commitment.

Has anyone found a good way to ask Claude to create **[meeting notes into action items](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/162369/can-claude-turn-rough-meeting-notes-into-action-items-without-guessing-who-owns-them)** while keeping uncertainty visible? I’m especially interested in how it handles missing owners or deadlines—does it leave those blank, or do you need to tell it explicitly not to infer them?
