# Can Perplexity stick to URLs I provide instead of adding unrelated web results?

I’m comparing a few vendor pages and want to ask follow-up questions based only on those specific URLs. When I try research tools, they sometimes bring in other pages that sound relevant but aren’t part of the material I’m reviewing.

Can Perplexity keep an answer grounded in a user-provided set of URLs, or does it always mix those pages with broader web search? I’d especially like to know whether it makes clear when one of my links could not be accessed.
