# How can I keep Perplexity answers tied to the library version my project uses?

My project is pinned to an older major version of a JavaScript library. When I research an error in Perplexity, I need advice for that version—not a valid example from the latest release that uses APIs we don’t have.

I can put the version number in the question and provide a versioned documentation URL. The tricky part is checking whether the rest of the answer still pulls in newer examples from tutorials or discussion threads.

### What would count as a reliable check?

Should I ask for a source beside each version-sensitive API claim, or is there a better way to constrain the research? I’m particularly interested in how people handle **version-specific library documentation** when search results favor current docs and older documentation pages redirect.

I don’t need an upgrade recommendation yet. I need to understand the behavior of the release that is actually installed.
