# Can Grok read values from a chart without inventing extra precision?

I want to use Grok to help interpret chart screenshots when the underlying spreadsheet isn’t available. My concern is the difference between reading a printed data label and estimating a value from a bar’s height.

If a bar sits somewhere between 40 and 50, an answer like “46.3” looks much more certain than the image supports. A cropped axis or logarithmic scale could make the interpretation worse.

Has anyone tested **chart value extraction** with Grok? Can you get it to separate visible labels, approximate readings, and values it cannot determine? I’d be interested in examples involving small screenshots or overlapping series—not just clean charts with every number printed beside the points.
