# How do you check whether a Perplexity citation supports the whole claim?

When a Perplexity answer puts a citation after a sentence containing several facts, I’m not always sure which parts the source supports. A sentence might combine a product’s release date, its price, and a claim about availability, while the linked page only clearly mentions one of those details.

For people who use it for research, what is your process for **checking Perplexity citations** without turning every short answer into a full manual investigation?

1. Do you ask for one factual claim per sentence with a separate citation?
2. Do you request a short supporting quotation from each source and then verify it on the page?
3. How do you handle a citation when the relevant text is no longer visible or the page has changed?

I’m less concerned about the number of links than about **claim-level citation verification**. Is there a prompting approach that makes this easier to audit, even if it doesn’t remove the need to open the sources?
