# Why do DeepSeek reasoning markers appear in some clients but not others?

I’ve seen DeepSeek responses where the reasoning is visibly separated with markers such as `<think>`, while other apps show only the final answer. Is that difference mainly down to the model, the client, or the way the response is formatted?

I’m especially interested in what those **reasoning markers** mean when using different interfaces or API wrappers, and whether their presence or absence changes how an application should handle the response.
