# Do Perplexity Space instructions apply to every thread in the Space?

I’m setting up a Perplexity Space for a project and want its instructions to apply consistently across conversations. If I add **Perplexity Space instructions** or files after starting a thread, will that existing conversation use the updated material, or do the changes only affect new threads?

I’m also curious whether Space instructions are applied automatically to every conversation inside it, or whether they need to be included in each thread. If you’ve tested this, what behavior did you see?
