# Are Claude usage limits shared when switching between models?

I sometimes switch between Claude models depending on whether I need a quick reply or a more involved analysis. I can’t tell whether **Claude usage limits across models** are counted together or whether each model has its own allowance.

For anyone who switches models during the day: have you noticed one model using up a shared limit, or do the available messages seem to reset independently? I’m interested in how this behaves in ordinary use, not just what the plan page says.
