# Can Claude extract scanned PDF tables without losing their structure?

Has anyone used Claude to pull data from scanned PDFs that contain complex tables? I’m especially interested in whether it can keep row and column relationships intact when a table has **merged table cells** or text that wraps across lines.

Do you get results that are usable for analysis, or does the table usually need a lot of manual cleanup afterward?
