# What should I expect from DeepSeek’s reasoning_content field in streaming?

I’m connecting to DeepSeek through an OpenAI-compatible SDK and trying to understand how its `reasoning_content` field behaves during streamed responses. Should I expect it to arrive separately from the user-facing answer, and does that behavior vary between streaming and non-streaming requests?

If you’ve integrated this into an application, I’d appreciate notes on which response fields you read and any compatibility surprises you ran into.
