# Can Grok separate live search findings from what it already knows?

When I ask Grok about a fast-moving story, I sometimes have trouble telling which details came from a current search and which might be background knowledge. That distinction matters when the answer includes a confident-sounding claim that isn’t clearly tied to a source.

Is there a prompt or response format that makes **live-search findings** easier to distinguish from the model’s own context? I’d like to hear how others check citations when a result mixes recent reporting with older information.
