# How are you handling Grok API rate limits during traffic spikes?

We’re considering Grok for a feature that gets a quiet trickle of requests most of the day, followed by short bursts when users submit a batch of work. I’m less concerned about average throughput than what happens when several requests arrive together and the API starts pushing back.

If you’ve run into rate limits with **bursty API traffic**, what has worked in practice? I’m curious whether you queue jobs, retry with backoff, or set a hard concurrency limit—and how you keep those choices from making the feature feel unreliable to users.
