# How reliable is Grok API JSON output when the response is streamed?

I’m considering the Grok API for a feature that streams answers to the UI while also needing a small JSON object at the end for the next step in the workflow. That combination seems easy to get wrong if the user sees partial output before the structure is complete.

For anyone who has tried this, does **Grok API streaming** stay predictable when you ask for structured output? I’m interested in what happens with incomplete fields, extra explanatory text, or a stream that ends early. Did you handle it with buffering and validation, or choose a different response pattern?
