# Does ChatGPT memory make separate conversations feel connected?

I’m trying to understand how useful ChatGPT memory is for everyday work. If I mention a project preference in one conversation, can I count on it being available in a new chat later, or does it work better for a small set of stable details?

How has **ChatGPT memory between chats** worked for you in practice? I’m especially curious whether you check or edit saved memories regularly, and whether you’ve run into cases where it carried forward the wrong detail.
