# Azure Functions Premium or Flex Consumption for a sporadic API?

I’m choosing a hosting plan for an HTTP-triggered Azure Function that gets steady traffic during business hours but very little overnight. The API also needs VNet access to a private database.

Would Flex Consumption handle that pattern without noticeable cold starts, or is Premium still the safer choice once networking and response times matter? I’m interested in real-world trade-offs, especially whether the extra cost of keeping instances warm is justified for a workload with long quiet periods.
