# Claude Refused My Scam SMS Example for Training—Why?

**Claude refused to write a sample scam SMS for a staff awareness session. It's for training people to NOT fall for scams. How is that harmful?**

It isn't, and it'll do it, you just need to give it the context you gave us. "Write a scam SMS" on its own looks the same whether it comes from you or from an actual scammer, and it plays safe.

Try something like: "I run cyber safety sessions for my office staff. I need three sample scam SMS messages, with the warning signs pointed out under each, so people can learn to spot them." That framing gets a proper answer with the red flags marked. Same result, no arguing.

If it still says no, ask it what exactly it's worried about. It'll tell you, and you can usually address that in one line. And hit the thumbs down, that feedback does go somewhere.

Claude will slowly learn that you’re not a scammer.
