Here are some of the upcoming features and roadmap for .NET Core:

- **.NET 8** is scheduled to be released in November 2023. This will be a Long Term Support (LTS) release, which means that it will be supported for 3 years on Windows and 2 years on macOS and Linux. .NET 8 will include a number of new features, including:

   - A new compiler that will be faster and more efficient.
   - A new garbage collector that will be more responsive and memory efficient.
   - New language features, such as pattern matching and improved support for generics.
   - New libraries, such as a new cryptography library and a new media library.

- **.NET 9** is scheduled to be released in November 2024. This will be a Standard Term Support (STS) release, which means that it will be supported for 18 months on Windows and 12 months on macOS and Linux. .NET 9 will continue to evolve .NET Core with new features and improvements.

In addition to these specific releases, the .NET Core roadmap also includes a number of ongoing initiatives, such as:

- **Porting .NET Framework APIs to .NET Core**. The goal of this initiative is to make it possible to run .NET Framework applications on .NET Core. This will be done by porting the APIs that are used by .NET Framework applications to .NET Core.
- **Improving performance**. The .NET Core team is constantly working to improve the performance of .NET Core. This includes improving the performance of the compiler, the garbage collector, and the runtime libraries.
