In simple terms, it means a list of web pages, which appear along with the regular search results for the entered keyword, not due to advertising promotion. Organic results on the other hand are displayed by the search engine based on its algorithms, criteria that are used to rank and compile web pages include; the quality, keyword list used, the overall authority of the website, and other factors such as user-friendliness.

For instance, when you type “best travel destinations” in the search engine, the sites that come beneath the sponsored links are genuine results that are further sorted according to the relevance of the content with the keyword used. It indicated that websites that achieved these results were not paid or advertised, therefore owners did not buy placements. Instead, they work their way up by properly formatting their content according to other Search Engine Optimization (SEO) protocols.

This is because users trust organic results than paid ones because the search engine has tried to display the most relevant and valuable information to the user. Organic results are important for a site, especially for those that are looking forward to generating traffic without the use of paid advertising.
