# how to create primary key in access database.

hi guys i have a [simple](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/1469/5-simple-ways-to-stay-fit-amp-healthy) [project](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/105927/how-to-excel-at-managing-multiple-projects) and there are used [access database](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/385/access-database-datatype-problem). but [now](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/81402/it-s-liberals-vs-progressives-in-us-politics-now) i need to add [primary key](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/214/primary-key) in my access [database table](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/159366/how-to-test-regular-expressions-in-sql-without-using-database-table). please [guide](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/44463/business-to-business-vat-reclaiming-a-guide-for-your-employees) me how to create primary key in access database table.

**Add a field as a [primary](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/33739/difference-between-primary-key-and-unique-key) key**

**1.** Open MS [Access](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12994/how-foreigners-can-access-blocked-websites-in-china) and select the Blank Desktop [database](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12226/use-of-database-in-sencha-extjs-and-insert-record-from-user-form-using-ajax).

**2.** after clicking the Blank Desktop database a popup will be open.

**3.** In the Navigation Pane, right-click the table and click Design View. \

**4.** now select the column to which you want to add the primary key and click the primary key button. \
