The incidence of C section delivery is at a higher level. Nearly 1 out of 4 women succumb to this assisted form of delivery. Now **why is a caesarean section named after [Julius Caesar](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/104556/who-was-julius-caesar)** as it was believed that he was the first baby to be delivered by this method? Though most women do not plan for a C section delivery it is better if you are aware about the procedures well ahead. This enables you to deal with the situation in a better way.

You need to educate yourself about the possible decisions which you might face up to in the process of childcare. This would develop a stronger platform for an ideal birth. The entire objective is to create a positive experience once you have a C section delivery and the following pointers become important

• A flexible birth plan has to be developed. If you have a plan discuss with your [health care](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/44696/implementing-machine-learning-in-health-care) provider and can give you specific instructions about C section delivery along with the procedures

• You need to have an idea about the regulations and policies in relation to a C section operating room at the birthing location

• If it is possible you can arrange one support person at the location beside you. To have a couple of support person with you is ideal [as one](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/34642/which-indian-it-company-has-been-recognized-as-one-of-the-world-s-best-employers-by-the-top-employer-institute-for-the-third-consecutive-year) can take care of you and the other can look after the baby. But this is an option that is pretty difficult to be approved

• Ask whether music can be played at the background because it is going to encourage relaxation

• Do practice relaxation methods along with act of [deep breathing](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/103707/what-are-the-benefits-of-deep-breathing-exercises) that you might have learned in a [child class](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/159389/how-to-remove-child-class-from-active-div). You can use these methods to [calm yourself](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/92645/how-to-keep-calm-yourself-in-worst-period-of-our-life) before the surgery.

• During a C section learn as much as possible about anaesthesia and even medication. Do ask about the medications and the [side effects](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/4434/5-side-effects-of-eating-too-many-chia-seeds) it can pose on your baby.

• You can seek permission to view the birth with a mirror. This could be the main reason **why it is called a caesarean section** in the first place.

• Also seek permission to touch the baby immediately after birth

• You can even arrange the partner to cut the chord

• You can ask the permission if you can place the baby on the chest on the route to a new born exam

• If the need arises, you can see permission to take photos and videos of the new born baby

• In case if you are planning to breastfeed you need to be aware on how soon you can start off with the process after surgery

• There are a lot of [educational](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/93571/how-many-types-of-educational-games-are-there-at-kidszone) books about C section delivery. Just be aware that whatever birth type you choose the entire objective is to have a healthy baby and a [healthy pregnancy](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/103733/tips-for-a-healthy-pregnancy).

Considering the evolution of C section delivery in the last few years, the pace of growth is something of a surprise. But a silver lining is risks are on the lesser side as compared to the days gone by.
