# Global Assembly Cache Tool (Gacutil.exe)

The syntax for adding an [assembly](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/25/global-assembly-cache) using gacutil.exe is as follows:-

/l Used to list the assembly in [GAC](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/339/gac-global-assembly-cache-in-dot-net)

/I Used to [register](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/220/registering-client-script-in-asp-dot-net) the assembly to the GAC

/u Used to unregister or remove the assembly from the GAC
