# Best Web Browsers For 2023

## How Do Browsers Work?

A web-based resource can be requested through the browser, which can then retrieve it from a web server (private or public), display it on its interface in a consumable format, and respond to the request.

Before the internet existed, [user interfaces](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/102632/what-is-the-significance-of-google-s-material-design-for-user-interfaces) that let you browse (navigate and read) online text files were referred to as 'browsers' in general. The [World Wide Web](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/3044/how-world-wide-web-www-origin)'s content may now be seen and interacted with using a simple app rather than a browser. Websites, movies, and pictures make up this.
