It turns out that grapefruit juice can [affect some](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/165379/what-you-need-to-understand-about-natural-fertility-treatment) drugs. Therefore, you may need to [rethink your](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/37731/has-a-person-ever-said-something-to-you-that-made-you-rethink-your-life) morning drink.

Do not drink grapefruit juice if you are taking any of these medications unless advised by your doctor:

(Other statins such as fluvastatin (Lescol), pravastatin (Pravachol), and rosuvastatin (Crestor) have little or no [interaction](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/80771/technology-is-destroying-human-interaction-how) with grapefruit juice.)

Antihistamines: fexofenadine (Allegra)

**Some psychiatric drugs:** buspirone, triazolam (Halcion), carbamazepine (Tegretol), diazepam (Valium), midazolam (Versed), sertraline (Zoloft)

**Some immunosuppressants:** cyclosporine (Neoral), tacrolimus (Prograf)

**Some pain medications:** methadone

I**mpotence drug ([erectile dysfunction](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/167739/erectile-dysfunction-information-and-treatment-options-is-fildena)):** sildenafil (Viagra)

**Some HIV drugs:** saquinavir (Invirase)

**Some antiarrhythmics:** amiodarone (Cordarone, Nexterone, Pacerone)

Many of these [drugs have alternatives](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/85513/so-these-are-a-few-reasons-which-will-help-you-in-knowing-the-goodness-of-ayurveda). So if you can't avoid grapefruit juice, talk to your doctor about the possibility of using another medication.

When taking a new medication, it is recommended to ask your doctor or pharmacist about the possibility of the new medication interacting with foods, supplements or other medications you are currently taking.
