# Uninstall Internet Explorer on Windows 7

Hi everyone in this blog I’m explaining about how to uninstall [internet](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/44650/what-should-you-do-during-an-internet-outage) [explorer](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/34658/want-to-developed-windows-explorer-without-using-telerik) on [windows](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/311752/how-to-install-and-use-the-google-wifi-software-on-a-windows-or-mac-computer) 7.

#### How to uninstall Internet Explorer on Windows 7:

If you're running Windows 7, you can uninstall Internet Explorer by clicking the Windows Start [button](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/63/how-to-add-button-in-datagridview-in-csharp-dot-net) and navigating to the [Control](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/197/asp-dot-net-repeater-control) Panel. From there, you'll want to click [Programs](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/157528/how-exceptions-can-be-handled-in-sql-server-programs), and then Programs and [Features](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12993/5-advanced-features-for-your-odoo-ecommerce-theme), which is the place you need to be if you want to uninstall any program.

To get rid of Internet Explorer, simply click on the Turn Windows Features on or off option on the left.

You'll want to find Internet Explorer in the list of features and then untick the [checkbox](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/291/how-should-use-checkbox-control-in-vb-dot-net) next to it and click OK to confirm.

Then, you should press Restart Now to apply the changes. You should now find that Internet Explorer is gone from your machine.

Technically, you haven't uninstalled Internet Explorer with this method, simply hidden/disabled it, but it's a handy workaround nonetheless. [Microsoft](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12301/microsoft-is-trying-to-kill-passwords) doesn't allow you to uninstall Windows features and Internet Explorer counts [as one](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/34642/which-indian-it-company-has-been-recognized-as-one-of-the-world-s-best-employers-by-the-top-employer-institute-for-the-third-consecutive-year) of those, which is why you're unable to completely uninstall it.
