# Choose your best FTP for Mac solution

This protocol is used to transfer to the user HTML-pages and related [elements](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/1372/the-5-elements-of-nature) such as [graphics](https://www.mindstick.com/interview/1206/give-an-example-of-new-elements-in-html5-to-support-multimedia-and-graphics), flash movies, scripts, etc. from the server. Besides that, it often transfers [files](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/23302/the-importance-and-advantage-of-keeping-your-important-files-on-the-cloud) that the [user downloads](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/33372/i-wanted-to-do-show-a-splash-screen-in-my-application-only-once-for-the-first-time-when-user-downloads-my-application-how-do-you-design-it-what-logic-will-you-use-for-it) to their computer.
