# Walking and Using a Phone is Bad for Your Health

As we walk, our phones continually seek and connect to signals, emitting increased levels of radiation. The extended publicity to radiation raises concerns about the capacity fitness results. Doctors and safety specialists are getting increasingly more involved in the dangers of walking whilst distracted. Preoccupied and distracted pedestrians have grown common on congested city streets. This lack of situational focus resembles that of a distracted motive force. Younger humans can be confident of their capability to use their phones while multitasking and tasty in other activities, but this isn't always the case whilst on foot. The Ohio State University examination determined that humans elderly 16 to twenty-five have been the maximum probable to be hurt while strolling and the use of a cellular telephone.

Similarly, a 2012 Pew Research Center survey discovered that cell phone owners aged 18 to 24 were more likely than older users to report bumping into things when distracted walking.

**You are not safe just because you are on a crosswalk.**

While some research indicates that automobiles are more likely to yield to pedestrians inside high-visibility crosswalks in New York City, other research finds that crosswalks in specific places have minimal effect on pedestrian safety.

On larger roadways with a lot of traffic, [researchers](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1544/mars-looks-more-seismically-active-than-before-thought-said-researchers) discovered that pedestrian accidents actually increase where crosswalks are present.

**Distracted Walking Injuries Are not Limited to Crossing the Street.**

You may believe it is safe to stroll and text when you are not crossing the street, but this is not the case. The [Internet is full](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/3361/why-the-internet-is-full-of-lies) of footage showing people colliding with objects because they are too preoccupied on their phones to see where they are going. These crashes can cause serious injury.

Stopping in the middle of a sidewalk in New York to text can be dangerous since other people are likely to run into you. Almost a quarter of respondents to the Pew Research Center survey indicated they had collided with another person or object while using a [cell phone](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/84934/man-who-invented-cell-phone-uses-iphone-2023-view). Half of the responders said [someone else](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/160828/what-should-i-do-if-i-suspect-someone-else-is-using-my-account-in-mindstick-training) ran into them while distracted by a phone.
