# Google is celebrating success

[As many as](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/34839/at-its-peak-there-were-as-many-as-20-citrus-packing-houses-in-the-city-of-redlands-how-many-are-left-today) 80 percents of Android [applications](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/85123/latest-applications-and-innovations-in-sports-analytics-wearables-and-broadcasting) from the [Play Store](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1784/the-app-permission-list-would-be-restored-soon-by-google-on-play-store) encrypts data transmitted via the network by default. Google boasts of [statistics](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/44913/who-is-the-minister-of-statistics-and-programme-implementation) and notes that even at the beginning of 2018, virtually no [application](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/59/xaml-extensible-application-markup-language) did it.

The use of TLS is by default any application created for Android 9 or later ("Target SDK" is then a level 28 or higher API). All updates and new [programs](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/157528/how-exceptions-can-be-handled-in-sql-server-programs) created in this way, uploaded to the Store, encrypt the traffic by default, which can be seen in the statistics.

A clear [increase](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/87583/how-the-violence-increase-in-west-bengal-during-mamata-banerjee) in the number of such applications can be seen primarily from around mid-2018. During the [official](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/93540/is-kidszone-different-from-official-mindstick) presentation of Android 9, the described change in the [requirements](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/49891/what-are-the-system-requirements-for-mac-os-x-10-3) for [data transfer](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/102387/how-does-a-network-switch-facilitate-data-transfer) was confirmed, which resulted in inappropriate actions being taken by the first programmers.

Now Google points out that traffic is already encrypted in 4 out of 5 programs. The trend is clear, so recording an even more impressive result, i.e. 100 or almost 100 percent of secured applications, seems to be a matter of at most a few consecutive months.
