When your business is doing well, you should take the opportunity to celebrate it with your staff. Picking the right time is really up to you as it will depend on the nature of your business, but in general, there are two ways to go about it. If you are celebrating an anniversary of being in business, then that’s a great option as it promotes the history of your company. Alternatively, you could celebrate a new product launch or a huge contract.

Make It Something Memorable, and Make It About Your Staff

What you really need to be able to do is make your event all about your staff. If they feel that the day is about them, and it recognises their contribution to the success of your business, then it will be a great way to boost morale and motivation.

Motivated staff are the biggest asset your company can have, and it’s something you can readily promote by celebrating the contribution of your team. See it as an opportunity to give thanks for everything they do, and you’ll soon see the impact this open approach has on your productivity.

Hire an Event Planner To Give Your Event the Professional Touch

When you want things to run smoothly and to go off without a hitch, there’s no better way to do it than by hiring a professional. Of course you could delegate everything to one of your senior managers, but there are two things you need to ask yourself before doing so.

Choose a restaurant so that everyone can fill up on great food and chat before they go home, and you’ll be able to get people bonding who don’t interact all that often during the working day. Ideal for ensuring that everything runs smoothly when the team get back to work later in the week.

Make Sure as Many of Your Staff Are There as Possible

There’s nothing worse than missing out on a big day, but it’s inevitable that if you have a large business, there will be a few people that can’t make it. If you want to maintain morale, then try your best to ensure they don’t miss out due to prior work commitments.

If you have a conference coming up, then make sure your event doesn’t clash with it. Otherwise it will look like you’ve sent a few people away to work hard on your behalf, whilst giving everyone else the day off to party.

Check Any Special Dietary Requirements

Checking the dietary requirements of your staff is the best way to ensure that everyone gets to try some great food. Send a quick email around a couple of weeks before, and if you have a few people who don’t manage to get back to you, it’s always worth chasing them up in person.

That way you won’t run the risk of leaving a few people disappointed that they won’t be able to sample the amazing spread that you’ve put on.

Relax the Dress Code for the Big Day

If you have a uniform policy, then it will make the event a lot better and enjoyable for your staff if you relax it for the day. Opt for smart casual so that you can still give a professional impression, but you can allow people to express themselves.

Even the simple act of allowing people to dress how they would outside of work opens new avenues of conversation. Ideal if you want to be able to get people talking so that they can bond and feel relaxed around one another. It’s also a great way of making it feel like something that’s for your staff, and not just an extended meeting that runs into their family time.
