# Line Graph in Excel

Line graphs are used to [display data](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/34030/how-to-display-data-in-the-table-using-angular-js) in [style](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/126300/apa-citation-style-get-to-know-about-it-for-your-next-assignment) way for pictorial format. In another words line graph is used to display data according time based. This is particularly helpful when including data in a presentation. You will, however, see the word "[chart](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/1509/show-google-analytics-data-in-chart-in-asp-dot-net-mvc)" in most of the help [files](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/87368/the-mitrokhin-files-the-kgb-s-hidden-hand-in-world-affairs-part-1-infiltration) and instructions. The information below will help you make a line graph in [Microsoft](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/81711/microsoft-disconnects-cortana-and-reinvents-it) Excel step by step.\

Step 1: First create [excel sheet](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/23040/to-import-excel-sheet-into-sql-database) with some dummy data as below

Step 2: Now select range of data which you display into line graph as below image

Step 3: Now, go to “[Insert](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/81/insert-update-delete-records-in-csharp-dot-net)” menu and [select](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/34066/use-select-operator-in-linq) “Line” [option](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/158788/what-is-rust-s-option-type-and-how-is-it-used-for-handling-nullable-values) as below [image](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/23551/an-investigate-distinctive-seafood-restaurant-for-your-image-stamp-character).

After selecting “Line Graph” your data look as below

Step 4: For more stylish line open Chart Type option and chose your style as below image.
